Landslide!

This is what happens when you own too many books-- they come pouring out the window! This obviously isn't true since there is no such thing as too many books. There are apparently three installations like this in Spain with about 5,000 books used in each piece. Created by artist Alicia Martin, these tornados are titled Biographies and are one of the cooler art installations I have seen. Wish she would do one in the United States!

Librarian Chic

I can now unleash my inner librarian with the use of this personal library kit. When I was little I had those colorful bookplates that said "Property of" but this capsule takes it to a whole new level. With a similar sticker plus other circulation favorites like the stamp plus ink pad, the return date insert and even a loan log, your personal library will have all the accessories you could possibly need. Next step, to finalize the cost of overdue fines...

Nose stuck in a book, literally

Like some people with new cars, I have always loved the smell of an old book.  It turns out that there is a legitimate explanation for the scent.  That at least partially explains the high I always get in the Strand...
