The author of the best-selling Sarah's Key (which if you haven't read, you should pick up) has a new book coming out in a few weeks. The House I Loved sounds like another rich story, this time set in 1860s Paris. Trying to turn Paris into a modern city, renovations are happening all over the city and Rose Bazelet is determined to not let her family home be destroyed. As she makes her stand on her own, she writes letters to her late husband which bring to light memories and secrets from long ago. Frankly, anything set in Paris always appeals to me but based on her story-telling skills I am confident this will be another great tale.
